Det er ikke mere end godt en måned siden vi havde fornøjelsen at teste Hammerhead Karoo. En cykel GPS der er lykkedes at holde sig på toppen, siden dens lancering i 2018, med månedlige software opdateringer og som Hammerhead lover stadig vil være det bærende element i deres produktprogram lang tid fremover.
Den tidligere doping dømte Tour konge Lance Armstrong twittede for nylig et billede hvor han angiveligt står med en ny Karoo 2 prototype i hånden. Det fik alverdens cykelmedier til straks at rydde forsiderne og berette om den nye kommende baby, selvom der indtil videre ikke er kommet noget som helst konkret ud om den nye Karoo 2 fra firmaet selv. Ud fra de sparsomme billeder bliver den formodentligt fysisk mindre i forhold til den lidt klodsede Karoo.
Altså en effektiv teaser, og selvom det kan debatteres om det rigtige i at bruge en tidligere dopingdømt cykelrytter, har han immervæk stadig mere end 3 mill følgere, guderne må vide hvorfor. Det kan så undre at ikke langt flere brands benytter sig af den form for Gorilla markedsføring, specielt når de beklager sig.

And, we’re adding a whole lot more, from new integrations to high-performance features.
We’ve always been grateful to Karoo users like you. You’ve supported our goal to revolutionize the way the world thinks about bike computers. You’ve shared consistently impactful feedback and feature requests. Your endless enthusiasm has pushed us forward. And, you’ve spread the word about this small company taking on the giants of the head unit game.
We’re not leaving you behind. Although we no longer sell the Karoo, we’ll continue to support it through regular software updates. We’ll always listen to your feedback, because you propel Karoo forward. And, of course, if you are an existing Karoo user, we’ll make it easy for you to move up to Karoo 2.
We’re excited about the Karoo 2, and it’s been hard to keep this announcement to ourselves. It felt tone deaf to share what felt like such a positive story at a time that is so globally challenging. But we also know that both our community and those who want to join it are eager to know more about what we are up to. We still have a lot more to share. Over the next weeks, we’ll be revealing some of what makes the Karoo 2 such a generational leap forward. And we’re not just talking hardware, but software features too. We think you’re going to love it just as much as we do.
