Officielt lanceres cyklerne gennem firmaet Powabyke Denmark. Med næsten 10.000 km afmærkede cykelruter i Danmark vil elektriske cykler have næsten ideelle vilkår.

Powabyke secure distribution contract for Denmark

Continuing a steadfast expansion into European territories UK based Powabyke has now secured a distribution deal for Denmark.

Powabyke has a signed distribution contract for Denmark in order to grow the presence of their unique brand of electric vehicles. Officially set up as Powabyke Denmark, the new company will take care of seeing the allocation of Powabyke’s respected brand of electric bikes in the country.
Cycling has long been a national pastime for Denmark and the country boasts some 10,000 km of scenic cycle routes. With this in mind there are ambitious sales targets for the brand of electric battery powered bicycles in the region.
Thomas Justesen, the successful Copenhagen-based businessman who will oversee Powabyke Denmark believes the potential is enormous.
“The electric cycle market in Denmark reached 20,000 units in 2010, and the market is growing fast. The market is expected to reach 50,000-80,000 units per year in the near future,” Justesen said. “I believe that Powabyke Denmark will be able to achieve a market share of 10 percent within a few years as the well-designed X-byke range will be welcomed by Danish customers. This target will be reached by progressive sales and marketing efforts, and in 2011 all bike dealers in Denmark will be aware of the innovative electric cycles from Powabyke".
On the launch of Powabyke’s Mk2 X-byke range, the widening distribution of the brand is perfect timing.
Powabyke’s Managing Director, Nick Child remarked: “We have been in discussions with Thomas for a few months now and his organisation impressed us and certainly has the ability to distribute the new Mk2 Powabyke range into the expanding Danish Market. We are very pleased that the Powabyke X-byke was chosen as a suitable product for the demanding and design-conscious Danish market. We have already started shipping product for 2011. The Scandinavian markets are an important part of our export strategy for this year and with Sweden already underway and now Denmark, we are pleased with the progress.”
The year 2011 promises to be a vital year for Powabyke’s growth both in the UK and internationally and Denmark will play a big part in the overall strategy to make the Powabyke e-bikes accessible all over the world.
